So let's go under the skin this time. I got interested in piercings and tattoos when I was a teenager so when I turned fifteen I went to get my labret piercing. Few years after that I got two more and two years ago I got my septum pierced.
18-vuotta täytettyäni kävin äitini kanssa ottamassa ensimmäisen tatuointini. Kuvaksi tuli Tim Burtonin The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy -kirjasta tutun Voodoo Girl:n nuppineuloilla lävistetty sydän.
Tällä tatuoinnilla on monta merkitystä: ensimmäiseksi halusin kuvan samaan paikkaan, jossa äidillänikin on tatuointi.
After I turned eighteen I went to get my first tattoo with my mom. The picture was from The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy by Tim Burton, a Voodoo Gir'ls heart with pins sticking out of it. I draw my own version of that and took the drawing to tattoo artist and told him to tattoo that on my skin. I was so afraid taking this first tattoo because I had no idea what kind of pain I should expect but luckily it wasn't that bad at all. The tattoo is on my chest.
It has many meanings to me: firstly I wanted to take it at the same place as my mother has her tattoo. Secondly this idea is by Tim Burton and I love his work. Thirdly I can find myself in the story. So this is quite personal tattoo and that's why it was my first one.
My second tattoo was originally by my favourite comic artist Roman Dirge. I wanted Halfsies kitten tattooed on my right arm because I love cats and when I was a kid my parents had 6 cats. I don't have any cats living with me right now so I really them but hopefully I will get one soon... This tattoo is actually memorial to my first "own" cat Nemo, who probably got hit by a car, and to my second cat Rasmus who went missing about six months ago. The cats were living at my parents' in the countryside so they could come and go as they wish.

The third ones were Skelebunnies. You can find them from the Skelebunnies comic by Tommy Kovac. These don't have any personal meaning but Kovac is one of my favourite artists and bunnies look so adorable (and dangerous) so they must be on my skin. I wanted to get my feet tattooed with something that would look mreally good with high heels and Skelebunnies fit just perfect.

Then it was time to do my largest and the most painful tattoo so far. He's Nailbunny from the comic Johnny the Homicidal Maniac by Jhonen Vasquez. It took 8 hours and 3 separate sessions but was still worth the pain. I should go back and get the colours fixed a bit, my skin didn't like colours purple and turquoise. I wanted Nailbunny tattooed on my skin because the picture is so cruel and cute at the same time. This was my first tattoo from Vasquez who is also one of my favourite comic artists. The link above takes you to the original picture for comparing.

Last week I got e-mail from my tattoo artist saying he would have time to do my next tattoo. So I went to get Johnny the Homicidal Maniac tattooed on my left arm. This picture was supposed to be done at the same time with Nailbunny, but since it took so long with Nailbunny there was no time for Johnny. So this is my newest and the most fresh tattoo. Also originally drawn by Jhonen Vasquez and from the same comic as Nailbunny. This Johnny is kind of like the man of my dreams :D The link above takes you to the original picture so you can compare it with the tattoo.
